20 pounds down: a photo!

I did a 10-pounds-down photo, so here's a 20-pounds-down photo.

Of course, I have the advantage of a great photographer for a husband. He showed me how many Hollywood portraits are taken like this one--a bit overexposed--to get rid of the appearance of fine lines, pores, and flaws. Women just look luminous like that. Here's another, less exposed one.

He took about 100 photos of me--no joke, really--when we were messing around with his camera yesterday. It's interesting to see what I look like in photos and how that is different from what I look like in my own head. Occasionally when I catch a glimpse of myself reflected in a mirror, I'm surprised to see myself looking thinner. On other days, I can be feeling thin and catch a glimpse or see a photo and think, Ugh! It's funny I can be that judgmental about my fat, because I sure don't feel that way about my family and friends!

I think you look great in both photos - you've got beautiful skin!

I am exactly the same as you re seeing photos of myself. A few weeks ago I pulled out photos taken over the last five years and said to the boy "Am I bigger then, or now?" "What about in this one?" Hehe, I think he got a giggle out of my game, but I really couldn't see the difference like he could. I'm keen for my body and mind to catch up!

You look amazing! Great job girlfriend! I wish I could take pictures. No such thing. Bad body image.

You look stunning :-D Congratulations on 20lbs down! I wish I had a trained monkey that could take flattering photos of me; my main issue is generally eyes going off in weird directions and them rolls of blub sticking out.

Well done, you!

Is your skin really that clear? Wow! You look great in both photos, but I can see your point about the first photo. You have the look of porcelin. (I hope I'm using the right term).

Re. seeing oneself as smaller or bigger, I notice that I tend to be more on track with both eating and exercise when I feel more attractive.

Congratulations on getting rid of the 20 lbs.

Beautiful! I had never seen your 10 pound pictures, so I went back and found them. Gorgeous as well. I also read about your husband's accident. Wow! Y'all have been through a lot. And as an Atlantan, I do know what 'being at Grady' for 10 days means. At least, what I think it does, but fortunately, not first-hand.

Wow, 17 comments! You guys (ladies) rock!

Thanks for the support.

And no, my skin isn't really that great. I'm hoping allergy treatments will help my skin, actually. But good lighting does wonders, and I do use sunscreen and don't try to fight the fact that I'm naturally pale.

KL, yes, we've had a crazy year. And I don't think you can understand Grady until you are trapped there, but you probably do have some idea! It's a hellhole. You know those bumper stickers that say, "If I'm in an accident, take me to Grady!"? I told my family I'd rather them let me die than be admitted to Grady.
